PBA Trade Rumors: San Miguel is the destination of a Gilas superstar?

Hold onto your PBA jerseys, PBA fans. Rumors are swirling that Dwight Ramos, fresh off a contract extension with Levanga Hokkaido in the B.League, might be eyeing a return to the Philippines – specifically, with the San Miguel Beermen.

Now, before we get our "three-peat dreams" hats embroidered, let's pump the brakes a bit. Here's why this might be more of a fashion faux pas than a front-office leak.

First, Ramos is in the midst of a stellar run in Japan. He's carving out a role, getting valuable minutes, and – we can presume – being compensated handsomely. Financially and from a development standpoint, things seem pretty darn good for the former La Salle standout.

Second, there's the whole "shirt" thing. Remember the San Miguel championship tee Ramos sported courtside at his brother's game? Apparently, it was just a case of sibling support and a free shirt that looked "cool." Not exactly a coded message to June Mar Fajardo and the crew.

Don't get me wrong, San Miguel boasting Ramos' defensive intensity and shooting touch would be a sight to behold. But for now, let's chalk this up to offseason buzz and enjoy watching Ramos continue to ball out in Japan.

The PBA will always be there, but right now, Ramos seems focused on building his game in the Land of the Rising Sun.
