PBA Controversy: San Miguel versus Meralco Finals is SCRIPTED?

The 2024 PBA Philippine Cup Finals is gripping fans with Meralco holding a precarious 3-2 lead over San Miguel.  However, some viewers are alleging the series is scripted by the PBA to force a game 7 for financial gain.

This suspicion might stem from the league's history of close finals, even though statistically only three out of the last ten championship series went the distance.  Fans might believe the PBA prioritizes a longer series to maximize profits.

But there are reasons to doubt this theory.  Firstly, the past two finals didn't require a game 7, indicating the PBA values a captivating matchup over a predetermined series length. Secondly, anyone who's witnessed the intensity from game 1 to 5 can recognize the genuine effort from both teams.

The series has been a back-and-forth battle between well-matched squads, not a preordained script.

It's more likely the PBA simply wants a competitive finals that keeps fans on the edge of their seats. Meralco and San Miguel are proving to be perfectly matched, delivering a thrilling series.

Instead of conspiracy theories, let's appreciate the high-caliber basketball and enjoy the unpredictable journey to see who will be crowned champion.
