PBA Trade Rumors: Magnolia, Meralco, Blackwater biggest trade needs!

As the 2024-2025 PBA season approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating an exciting year of basketball. With the season less than a month away, many teams have already made significant moves, but more trades are expected to happen. In this article series, we'll take a closer look at the updated trade targets for each team. Today, we focus on Magnolia, Meralco, and Blackwater.

Blackwater - Shooting Forward

Blackwater's competitiveness will hinge on Sedrick Barefield living up to the high expectations placed on him. To further bolster their roster, they could benefit from acquiring a forward who excels at shooting from beyond the arc. A reliable shooting forward would add a new dimension to their offense, making them a more formidable team.

Meralco - Young Talent Upgrade

Meralco doesn't have a glaring positional need at the moment. Instead, they should focus on a trade that enhances their overall talent and injects some youth into their lineup. This is why trading for Caelan Tiongson might not be the best move for them. Meralco should aim to acquire young, promising players who can contribute immediately and grow with the team.

Magnolia - Elite Shooter

Magnolia made a strong addition by acquiring forward Zav Lucero, who has a high ceiling. However, they still need to address their outside shooting. Relying solely on Paul Lee as their primary elite shooter may not be enough. Bringing in another top-tier shooter would help Magnolia stretch the floor and improve their offensive efficiency.
