PBA Free Agency: Terrafirma do not want a super PG?

Jordan Heading is an exceptionally talented player with a strong international resume. He has shown his skills in various leagues, including the Japan B2 League and Taiwan, where he has consistently proven himself as a top performer. With impressive stats, including a personal best of 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists in Japan, Heading's abilities are undeniable. He’s also well-known for his leadership and playmaking, qualities that any PBA team would value highly.

Yet, despite all these accolades, Heading’s current situation with Terrafirma remains unclear and frustrating for both the player and potential suitors. If Terrafirma has no intention of integrating him into their plans, it would be prudent—and in the best interest of both the player and the league—to allow other teams to negotiate with him and pursue a trade. Keeping Heading in limbo neither benefits him nor Terrafirma and could ultimately hurt the PBA's reputation.

It’s not just about being fair to Heading. It's also about maintaining the competitive integrity of the PBA. By preventing a player of his caliber from finding a team that values his skills, Terrafirma risks alienating not only the player but also fans who want to see the best talent on the court. Heading has expressed his desire to honor his Filipino heritage by playing in the PBA, and that should be encouraged, not stymied by unnecessary roadblocks.

The situation could be resolved amicably through a trade, especially since other teams are likely interested in acquiring a player of Heading's caliber. This would allow Terrafirma to receive valuable assets in return, instead of letting a talented player sit on the sidelines or leave the country to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Given the reported $21,000 per month offer from a B.League team, it’s clear that Heading’s talents are in demand, and the PBA should capitalize on that interest.
