PBA Trade Rumors: TNT will trade Mikey Williams for?

Is TNT Overlooking Moala Tautuaa in a Mikey Williams Trade?

The ongoing Mikey Williams trade saga has taken another turn, with Snow Badua hinting at a potential return for TNT. His latest cryptic post features an image of a muscular, bearded man, leading many to speculate that Moala Tautuaa could be the player in question.

If true, this could be a huge mistake for TNT not to consider.

Why Moala Tautuaa Makes Sense for TNT

1. A Floor-Stretching Big Man

Tautuaa is a 6’8" center who can stretch the floor, something that TNT has lacked for years. Unlike Poy Erram, who primarily operates in the paint, Tautuaa has a reliable outside shot, making him an excellent fit alongside Jayson Castro and Calvin Oftana.

2. TNT’s Need for Frontcourt Depth

With Kelly Williams nearing retirement and Troy Rosario traded last season, TNT’s big man rotation is thin. Tautuaa provides size, strength, and versatility—allowing the team to match up better against the likes of Junemar Fajardo and Japeth Aguilar.

3. A Win-Now Move for TNT

Mikey Williams has already fallen out of favor with TNT’s management, and his trade value is dropping. Getting a proven championship-caliber center in return would be a practical move rather than chasing younger, unproven guards who might not fit their system.

Would It Be a Mistake to Pass on Tautuaa?

If TNT refuses to take Tautuaa in a deal for Mikey, they might end up with a weaker return—or worse, prolong the trade drama. While the team may have other targets in mind, they shouldn’t overlook what Tautuaa brings to the table.

A floor-spacing center who fits their system is rare in the PBA, and unless TNT has a better deal lined up, they might regret passing on this opportunity.
