The Phoenix Suns are actively surveying the trade market as the February 5 deadline approaches, and a familiar name has resurfaced on their radar: Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges.
According to reports from Sam Amick of The Athletic and confirmed by John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7, the Suns are "fans" of the 27-year-old Michigan State product. However, while the interest is real, the path to a deal is riddled with significant obstacles, ranging from a lack of draft capital to concerns over the team's internal harmony.
The Hornets' High Asking Price
Despite the Hornets' position in the standings, they are reportedly in no rush to part with Bridges unless they receive a premium return. League sources indicate that Charlotte is holding out for at least one first-round pick, and potentially two, to consider moving the veteran wing.
This poses a major problem for Phoenix. Following the blockbuster acquisitions of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, the Suns’ draft cupboard is famously bare. As Gambadoro points out, the Suns lack moveable first-rounders to include in a deal of this magnitude.
