The PBA trade stove is heating up once again, with veteran insider Snow Badua reporting a significant swap between the NLEX Road Warriors and the Converge FiberXers. According to the reports, NLEX is sending versatile forward Javee Mocon to Converge in exchange for brawny big man Larry Muyang.
While neither team has officially confirmed the transaction, the deal represents a classic "surplus-for-need" exchange that could fundamentally change the rotations for both squads as they head into the next conference.
Converge: Adding a "Team-First" Swiss Army Knife
For the Converge FiberXers, acquiring Javee Mocon is a masterstroke in roster balancing. Since the arrival of Justine Baltazar and the continued dominance of Justin Arana, the FiberXers have found themselves with an abundance of interior size but a lack of veteran versatility on the wings.
The Fit: Mocon is a 6'3" "do-it-all" forward who has spent the 2025-2026 season averaging a solid 9.5 points and 4.7 rebounds for NLEX. He doesn't need the ball to be effective—a trait that will be vital alongside high-usage guards like Alec Stockton and Juan Gómez de Liaño.
The "Glue" Role: While Mocon may start in a reserve role, his ability to defend multiple positions and facilitate from the high post makes him the ultimate "glue guy." For a Converge team that has occasionally struggled with offensive stagnation, Mocon’s team-first mentality is exactly what the doctor ordered.
NLEX: Strengthening the Interior
On the other side of the trade, the NLEX Road Warriors are moving a position of strength (the wing) to address their biggest vulnerability: interior bulk.
The Problem: Despite a strong season from Robert Bolick, NLEX has often been bullied in the paint by teams with traditional "bruiser" centers.
The Solution: Larry Muyang (6'6", 220 lbs) provides the physical presence NLEX has been missing. Muyang has shown flashes of brilliance this season, including a 16.8 PPG and 12.0 RPG (per 48 minutes) efficiency line. By pairing Muyang with Brandon Ramirez or Anthony Semerad, NLEX creates a much more physical defensive wall.
A Tale of Two Needs
This trade isn't about one team "winning" or "losing" in a vacuum; it’s about both teams recognizing they had too much of one thing and not enough of another.
