The 2026 PBA Commissioner’s Cup bracket is oozing with a level of parity we haven't seen in years. With the NLEX Road Warriors claiming the #1 seed and traditional powerhouses like TNT and San Miguel fighting from the lower half, the "predictable" era of the league has officially been put on notice.
However, for the teams whose seasons ended at the finish line of the elimination round, the focus shifts from the court to the war room. If these four eliminated squads want to join the parity party next conference, here are the trade targets they should be targeting.
Blackwater Bossing: The Passing Guard
Blackwater’s struggle this conference can be traced back to a stagnant offense; they currently rank second to last in the league in total assists. To unlock the potential of their scoring wings, they need a genuine floor general who prioritizes the extra pass.
The Target: Fran Yu (Titan Ultra Giant).
The Logic: Yu is currently averaging 5.8 assists per game, ranking among the elite facilitators in the league. Bringing in a pass-first guard like Yu would take the playmaking pressure off their primary scorers and give the Bossing a much-needed identity shift in the half-court.
Titan Ultra Giant: A Starting-Caliber Big Man
Titan has some interesting pieces, but their interior rotation feels incomplete. While Cade Flores has proven to be a high-motor, starting-caliber talent, he is often left fighting an uphill battle against the league’s "mammoth" imports and elite locals like Junemar Fajardo.
The Target: Greg (Slaughter).
The Logic: Titan needs a massive veteran presence to anchor the paint. A veteran like Greg could provide the rim protection and rebounding gravity that would allow Flores to slide into a more natural "power forward" role where his athleticism can shine.
Terrafirma Dyip: More Scoring Firepower
Jerrick Ahanmisi has been nothing short of spectacular, averaging 21.3 points per game and proving he can carry a heavy offensive load. But as the saying goes, one player does not a postseason contender make. Terrafirma needs a secondary threat to prevent defenses from triple-teaming Ahanmisi.
The Target: A guard molded in the Rain or Shine system.
The Logic: Rain or Shine is famous for producing high-IQ, "plug-and-play" guards like Gian Mamuyac (13.0 PPG) or Anton Asistio. Acquiring a player with that kind of pedigree would give Terrafirma another reliable bucket-getter who understands how to play within a flow.
Converge FiberXers: The Deadly Catch-and-Shoot Sniper
Converge actually possesses one of the more complete rosters among the bottom tier, led by the versatility of Juan Gomez de Liaño (14.3 PPG). What they lack is a specialist—a player who doesn't need the ball to be a threat.
The Target: Marcio Lassiter (San Miguel Beermen).
The Logic: There are rumors that SMB might be willing to move on from their veteran sniper. Lassiter remains the gold standard for catch-and-shoot efficiency. Putting him on the wing would force defenses to stay home, giving Gomez de Liaño and their slashing imports massive lanes to operate.
