PBA Trade Rumors: TNT wants to get the giant of Titan?

The PBA trade market is officially operating in hyperdrive. Just as the basketball community was digesting the massive rumors surrounding Joshua Munzon’s potential move to the TNT Tropang Giga, veteran insider Snow Badua dropped another absolute bombshell during his recent Facebook Live session.

According to Badua, the MVP Group flagship isn't just looking at perimeter scoring—they want size. Specifically, TNT is reportedly highly interested in acquiring veteran big man Greg Slaughter from the Titan Ultra Giant Risers.

Badua noted that Slaughter probably should have accepted Titan’s initial, lower contract offer. Why? Because if he were actively on the Titan roster right now, he would almost certainly be packaged alongside Munzon in a blockbuster deal to TNT.

While the paperwork and contract status might be complex, the mandate for Titan Ultra's front office is incredibly clear: If there is any legal or structural way to sign and trade Greg Slaughter to TNT, they should do it without hesitation.

The Case for Moving On from Gregzilla

On paper, keeping a 7-foot center like "Gregzilla" sounds like a luxury for an independent franchise trying to establish its footprint. But in the modern PBA landscape, holding onto an aging, high-profile big man doesn't align with Titan's stated long-term goals.

Here is why trading Slaughter is the ultimate win for Titan Ultra:

  • Maximizing Declining Asset Value: Slaughter is firmly in the twilight of his career. His peak years with Barangay Ginebra are in the rearview mirror. For a developing team like Titan, keeping him on the books moves the needle very little in terms of wins, but trading his rights allows them to extract maximum value from a premium franchise like TNT.

  • The Ultimate Leverage Piece: If TNT is genuinely desperate to anchor their frontline with Slaughter's size, Titan holds massive leverage. They can use his inclusion to demand the ultimate king's ransom—forcing TNT to part with elite young prospects, proven rotational producers, and the crucial draft capital Titan needs to build for the future.

  • Clearing the Runway for Youth: Titan needs to find out what their young players can do. Clogging the frontcourt minutes with a veteran center delays the development of younger bigs who need consistent playing time to blossom into everyday PBA starters.

Titan Ultra recently declared to the public that they are not a farm team. The best way to prove that isn't by stubbornly holding onto veterans who don't fit your timeline; it's by winning the trade negotiation.

If TNT wants to build a towering frontline and is willing to pay the premium to get Greg Slaughter, Titan shouldn't stand in the way. They should pack his bags, finalize the package with Munzon, and extract every single draft pick and young asset TNT has left to offer. It is time to let the past go and fully commit to the future.
