The Converge FiberXers might be heading toward a massive roster shakeup. According to veteran sports insider Snow Badua on a recent episode of his No Cooking Show, the franchise is reportedly exploring the idea of a major overhaul, with two of their most prominent guards—Mikey Williams and Alec Stockton—finding their names floating in the trade block.
Badua reported that Converge has no plans to extend Mikey Williams once his current contract expires. One of the strongly discussed possibilities is shipping him to the Titan Ultra Giant Risers.
In addition to Williams, Badua noted that Alec Stockton is also on the trading block. Stockton has reportedly approached Converge management to ask for clarity on his role, questioning whether he is still part of their long-term plans or if they intend to trade him. This stems from a noticeable drop in his playing time in recent games, which has fueled intense speculation about his future with the team.
From a front office perspective, exploring a Stockton trade is logical. If a player is questioning his minutes and role, and the team can extract maximum value in a deal, it makes sense to listen to offers.
But there is a massive catch: Converge might be suffering from some serious trade PTSD right now.
Just look at what happened with Deschon "Schonny" Winston. Converge traded Winston to NLEX, and he is now blossoming into a legitimate, soon-to-be superstar, dominating the floor and leading the Road Warriors. If Converge pulls the trigger on a Stockton trade, they risk a repeat of that exact nightmare. Stockton has already shown flashes of immense two-way potential, and placing him in a system that maximizes his aggressive slashes and defensive tenacity could instantly turn him into a star elsewhere.
Ultimately, the most crucial factor for the FiberXers isn't just making a trade—it is ensuring they find the absolute perfect return package. Because if Stockton explodes into a superstar for another franchise, the Converge management will have a lot of explaining to do.
