Philippine Basketball Simulation League

PHILIPPINE BASKETBALL SIMULATION LEAGUE
This is a virtual league wherein we will simulate the Philippine Basketball Association.
Yes, we will let you decide the depth chart, decide on drafts and even work out trades!
We will simulate the league using basketball-gm.com

THE LEAGUES
We will run two leagues.
Fantasy Simulation League (FSL)
This is the league that will start through a fantasy draft.

Real Simulation League (RSL)
This is the league that will start with the current rosters of the PBA teams for the 2020 season.

The Vision
We will simulate real-life PBA. So, we will only conduct a single season of the league, per year.
So, the vision is to have this running as long as possible. We want to cater to Filipino basketball fans who want to experience managing/running a basketball franchise in the PBA.

WHAT ARE FANTASY POINTS?
If you want to do make some actions/transactions for the team that you want to support/manage, you need to pay it with Fantasy Points.

WAYS TO EARN FANTASY POINTS

ACTIONS/TRANSACTIONS

DEPTH CHART
Depth chart represents the rotation that you want your team to follow. The format will be:
STARTERS
C -
PF -
SF -
SG -
PG -
BENCH
6th
7th
8th
9th
10th
11th
12th

- You can also put these signs and it will mean:
    0 No Playing Time
    - Less Playing Time
   None  Let Coach Decide
   + More Playing Time
   ++ Even More Playing Time

- Every time we post the results on the Facebook page, the comment section will be utilized for you to change the depth chart.
- The starting price will be 1 Fantasy Point. This will be a bidding process because your co-GM can post another depth chart and pay a higher price. You can raise your bid for your depth chart until the next simulation day.

FREE AGENCY
Signing
- If you have a roster space and wants to sign a free-agency, you can try to sign a free-agent.
- Message our Facebook page that you want to sign a Free-Agent. If other franchises want to sign that Free Agent, they will need to outbid you.
- The co-GM will be informed and can nullify the decision by a voting process. A tie will result into rejecting the bid.
- The initial bid will be 1 Fantasy Point. If a bid will remain to be the highest for 24 hours after the public was informed, that Free Agent will sign with that highest bidder.
- PBA players who played in the previous season, are the only ones
allowed to be signed. Except for players who missed the season
because of an injury.
Cut
- If you want to cut a player to open up a roster spot, send our Facebook page a message. Your co-managers will be informed and it will go through a voting process. You will vote to cut or retain the player.
- The price of cutting a player is 2 Points even if the player will end up being retained.

TRADING
This is a two-stage process:

Stage 1: Trade Block
- Only the players and draft picks that are in the trade block can be traded.
- Message our Facebook page if you want to put a player or a draft pick in the trade block. The co-managers will be informed with your intent and it will go through a voting process if that player/pick should be put to the trade block.
- The co-managers will be given 24 hours to decide if they agree to put that player/pick in the Trade Block.
- The price will be 2 Fantasy Points, even if the player/pick will end up being disapproved by the co-GM.
- The player/pick will only remain in the trade block for 21 days.
Stage 2: Trade Discussion
A. Make an offer
- If you want to make an offer, message our Facebook page. Take note, only players/picks in the Trade Block should be part of the trade.
- There will be two types of offer:
1. A normal offer will cost 5 Fantasy points and it will undergo a voting process (48 hours) with your co-managers. If your co-managers rejected it, you will not lose the 5 Fantasy points.
2. An absolute offer will cost 10 Fantasy points and it will not undergo a voting process. It will be sent as an offer right away to the other teams.
Our ideal scenario is for co-GMs to have their own discussions already. So, that offers will be perfected and will not need to undergo the voting-process.
B. Received an offer
- If your team received an offer from another franchise, you will be informed. You have two options for the offer and you will need to decide for 48 hours.
1. Accept : This means you want to do the trade offer as it is.
2. Reject: You do not want the trade to happen.
- This is already a voting-process. The price of making a decision (accept/reject) is 3 Fantasy Points. You can decide not to participate and keep your Fantasy point.
- Absolute Decision: if you want to avoid the voting-process, you can make an absolute decision, either accept or reject, worth 10 Fantasy Points.
- Counter-offer: If you have a counter-offer in mind, you will go through the process of A.

NOTE:
A. Lone-GMs (GM who are still alone as a GM in a franchise) will be a quicker process because they do not have co-GMs to get approval from. So, they can make trade offers right away. Take note though, that the players/picks of your team in that offer will be put in the trade block, if they are not yet there and that will cost you Fantasy Points.

B. When Lone-GMs received an offer and they accept, 24 hours will still be used for conservatism before the approval of the trade. Just in case a new GM will suddenly joins the franchise.

C. GMs can back-out from trade as long as an acceptance has not been communicated by the team who will accept it.

TRADE APPROVAL
- A trade that is obviously lopsided, will not be approved.
Examples:
1. Japeth Aguilar for Rafi Reavis
2. CJ Perez for a 1st round pick and two 2nd round pick
3. Stanley Pringle for Aljon Mariano, Jervy Cruz and Sol Mercado
4. #1 pick of the 2020 draft for a 2021 1st
