2020 Fantasy Basketball League Day 10: TRADE ALERT! Norwood is on a new team!

There are a lot of trades that are currently in discussions and we do have another approval for today. We are almost at the half-way of our season. So, every team is trying to make sure that their teams are in the right place before the trade deadline!

Yes, just like in real life, we will of course have a trade deadline.

One week before the end of the elimination round, only teams that are officially eliminated from the playoff race are allowed to make trades. And that day will be June 14!

By the way, this is not the real-life PBA! This is the Philippine Basketball Simulation League.

What is PSBL? Please READ THIS!

And here is a very intriguing trade to analyze.

Blackwater sent: Gabe Norwood
Phoenix sent: Robbie Herndon

Phoenix
Phoenix won this in a big way! Right?

Not really. It all depends on how close Phoenix is to contend for the title. Yes, Gabe is easily one of the biggest names in the PBA but the guy is already 35 years old and last season in real life PBA, he only averaged 6.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 34% FG and 27% 3FG per game.

Still a good playmaker but his scoring acumen is really bad now that his Net Rating for the year, was negative. It means that per 100 possessions, his team was being outscored when he was on the floor.

Overall, grabbing a solid veteran in exchange for a borderline prospect was a very good move.
Grade: B

Blackwater
With this move, Blackwater is easily the youngest team in the league. The focus is obviously on the future.

Herndon is only 26 years old and has shown the potential of becoming a 3-and-D player. The age difference was a big factor in this trade.

There is a good chance that Herndon will be a much valuable player than Gabe as early as 2021.

But the fact is, Blackwater may have found a much better prospect for a Gabe. The name of Gabe Norwood is well-respected in the country. He should have gotten someone, better than Herndon.
