2020 Fantasy Basketball League Day 12: TRADE ALERT! Rain or Shine and NLEX, exchange star point guards!

We still have a lot of trades to talk about as we reach the middle point of our elimination round. Today, we will tackle two trades and give out grades!

In this trade of Rain or Shine, we see a lot of players involved! Let us try to dissect and understand the point of view of both teams.

Wait, this is not real life PBA. This is PSBL!

What is PSBL? READ HERE!

ROS-NLEX
Rain or Shine Trade: Chris Banchero, Kevin Racal, Simon Enciso, 2020 ROS 1st
NLEX Trade: Kiefer Ravena, Kelly Williams, Kelly Nabong, 2020 NLEX 2nd

NLEX
Now that they are at the bottom of the standings, it seems like NLEX wants to rock the boat, hoping to find the right roster. They traded the current and future face of their franchise in Ravena plus two centers for starting-caliber guards and a role player. The price for that will be the difference between the ROS 1st and the NLEX 2nd.

Knowing the age-difference between Ravena and Banchero, I can say that this is a risky decision by NLEX. Looking at their current core, it is pretty clear now that Nambatac will be their guy of the future. Banchero is an in-prime player but I do not think NLEX's current roster has enough firepower to make some noise this year.

Although, they did well in selling high the Kelly duos. Williams is already old while Nabong may end up retiring from the simulation world in two years.

Overall, it is a hard trade to properly gauge at this point for NLEX.
Grade: C

RAIN OR SHINE
Rain or Shine was assembling the team that he wants for his taste. It seems like he is fine with it now as four of his starters are all acquired from trades.

They upgraded Banchero, Racal and Enciso for the price of the difference between their 1st and the 2nd of NLEX. What is great with the trade that they did is the fact that Ravena is much younger than Banchero.

So, they manage to have a long-time building block of the franchise. The risk of losing the Kellys two years from now is real but those will surely be a big help this season. They now have a pretty deep frontline in Belga-Abueva-Williams-Nabong-Faundo.

Overall, Rain or Shine managed to improved their current roster without paying anything from their future.
Grade: B

Here is a smaller trade that was also approved recently.

PHX-DYIP
Phoenix Trade: Cliff Hodge, 2021 2nd PHX
Columbian Trade: Bong Galanza, 2020 1st DYIP

PHOENIX
The great thing about drafting a lot of bigman during the fantasy draft is you can easily sell them high without worrying about your depth.

Phoenix took advantage of that and now they have a 1st round pick and their frontline depth is just fine. They also grabbed a shooter that they need.
Grade: A

COLUMBIAN
Columbian paid a huge price in grabbing a partner for Greg Slaughter in their starting line-up. I do love a Hodge-Slaughter combo because of Cliff's versatility, especially on defense.

Although, this was a loss for Columbian in my eyes because that 2020 1st should have gotten a much better bigman than Cliff. His possible saving grace will be for the Slaughter-Hodge combo to work like magic.
Grade: D
