The 2017 Governors' Cup started silently as the 2017 Jones Cup magnets the spotlight.Phoenix started on the right foot with Eugene Phelps leading the charge. While NLEX continue their resurgence that started from their last two games in the Commissioner's Cup.
Let us check a quarter each to get a good feeling for the four teams.

Reden Celda made two excellent decisions early into the quarter. Check their play at 2:20 (video time).
Willy Wilson is locking up Cummings! Check 3:26 and 3:53. Wilson is pretty effective against players with average agility.
Phelps was passing more, out of the post. He is also enjoying setting up picks and luring the attentions of their opponent from his teammates.
The play of Phoenix at 4:09 was awesome! They staggered each other (Wilson-Jazul, Baguio-Phelps) to disrupt the defense and Phelps roll to the rim which resulted to three open shooters (pause @ 4:18).
How about that creative three from Galanza @ 8:33!
JC Intal is going to the post, more than before. He is slowly transitioning to the PF position. But @ 15:04, he knocked a long off-the-dribble three! If he can be both, the Rocket will truly launch!
