As expected, another Terrence Romeo to TNT trade is shaping up. The source, is one of the two premier PBA trade-rumor provider.
According to him, Terrence Romeo and Yousef Taha for Moala Tautuaa and RR Garcia is on the works.
So, is it realistic for TNT and Globalport to pursue that deal?
Their first deal of Romeo and Guinto for Tautuaa and Tamsi was rejected by the Commissioner. And the reason was, they want TNT to provide more.
So, TNT did that. The rumored return of Tautuaa and Garcia is way better than the first one.
In a sense, Garcia and Romeo entered the league in the same stratosphere, although Romeo found his own team and on the other hand, no franchise accepted Garcia as a core player.
The more interesting part will be the replacing of Guinto with Taha. I think, Guinto has more value in the league because of what he had shown. So, TNT also accepted a reduction of what they will get from Globalport, even though they are already increasing the value that they will exchange?
In terms of fairness, I think the deal is very fair. It will greatly depends on what angle you look at it. If you use the star-meters, TNT will win this deal. If you look at the skill sets and impact, the value is equal and acceptable.
One last thing that we need to point out is the timing of the rumor. Do the management of the two franchises worked during Holy Week? Not an easy question to answer with Yes.
Will this finally be the deal that will end the Romeo era on Globalport?
