In their game against Meralco Bolts, Magnolia Hotshots suffered another injury in their frontcourt. Ian Sangalang's wrist was hurt pretty bad in the 2nd quarter.
Fortunately, Magnolia is still 3-1. But with another injury in their frontcourt, Magnolia will be making a huge mistake if they really think that they can still compete for a crown.
Entering the playoffs may not be a problem, but surviving long enough in the playoffs will not be easy.
Wrist injuries are not fast in terms of healing. It could even affect the feel of that player when he returns.
So, a trade could be a must for them, if they want to compete for a crown.
So, who should be their trade targets?
Two big names come to mind.
CHRISTIAN STANDHARDINGER
Imagine having the "bunso" with two older brothers. You saw your father delivered a Superman toy to your eldest. Then, he forced you to return Professor X so that he can give it to your second brother, who is the most popular out of the three of you.
Then, of course, your 2nd brother already owns the biggest Barney in town. Then, you wake up one day again, and your father just bought a cyborg toy for your eldest!
Magnolia deserves some love. Standhardinger should find a way to the Magnolia franchise to balance the three SMC teams. Now, that Magnolia is suffering from injury, there is no better time.
RAYMOND ALMAZAN
I think Rain or Shine is really asking for a huge package for the dark knight. It will be worth it for Magnolia to give in. The ability of Almazan to hit threes and be a good defensive player could make Magnolia complete.
Imagine him playing two man game with Jio Jalalon and Mark Barroca on both ends of the court? Two speedy guards that the defenders need to respect and disruptive on the defensive end.
If they need to give up Herndon, Ramos, Pascual and a 1st round pick for him, they better do. The league will not get easier in the next few years. They better mold the best team possible, now.
