The real series will start at game 3. Game 1 and game 2 are basically the showcased of the arsenal of the two finalists.
Two important things that we need to take note after the first two games; Christian Standhardinger is unstoppable and Justin Brownlee is unstoppable.
So, which team will take control of the series?
KEY FACTORS
Points in the Paint
Assists
Rebounding
The battle in the paint is dictating this Finals. In game 2, San Miguel dominated by scoring 60 points and grabbing 45 rebounds compared to the 44 points and 39 boards of Ginebra.
With a lot of big bodies occupying space, it is not surprising that what they do is very important for the result of the game. I can see San Miguel maintaining a big line-up for the entirety of game 3, what will Ginebra do?
One thing that is lacking so far is an excellent defense. The offensive flow of each team had been beautiful as shown by their combined 65 assists in game 2. This game 3, I expect tighter defenses to stop hemorrhaging points.
PREDICTION
I think Brownlee will have a bad game this time. The more minutes that coach Leo Austria will give to Standhardinger, the better. On the other hand, I expect coach Tim to provide more touches to their bigs.
With more tactical options, I expect San Miguel to play much better and get the lead of this series.
