Greg Slaughter is taking a break! So, Ginebra cannot trade him?

In a shocking announcement made on Instagram, Greg Slaughter is taking a break from the PBA. That is the main thought of his Instagram post where he gave his gratitude to the Barangay Ginebra franchise, and their bosses.

Even though the number of Barangay Ginebra fans who are calling for him to be traded is increasing every day, Greg still thanked them.

Now, the question is, what does Greg means? He is taking a break to work on himself in all aspects.

The way I read it, I think the pressure of the trade rumors and the hate that he received in the past few years from Ginebra fans themself may have been dragging down his mental and psychological state.

There is also a good chance that he cannot see himself playing for another team because before he posted that, rumors are already very loud that he is going to be traded. I do not think that is a coincidence. I will not be shocked if he is doing this to try and keep himself on the camp of Ginebra.

The question now is, can Ginebra still trade him?

Yes, they can still trade his rights. He is currently not signed in to a contract but as long as Ginebra keeps his rights, they basically own him.

The problem now is, his value will go down so badly because there is a very big risk that he will never return to the league if it is not Ginebra.

And I do not see Ginebra accepting a bad trade. One possible thing that could happen is for MVP group to try and get him back because if you remember, he was from Ateneo, a school supported by MVP.

Maybe, it is time for him to go home?
