We will start another series of articles about trades, wherein we will provide the top 3 trade assets of each team.
Trade assets can either be players or draft capital (1st round and 2nd round picks). The top 3 trade assets are the ones that the team can give up to gain more in terms of value due to their current team structure and place in the league.
We will start with the Blackwater Elite.
#3 Mac Belo
Belo was the most hyped guy for the 2016 PBA draft but up to this point, Belo has failed to legitimize himself as a franchise-player. Although, he has proven to be a very skilled forward, especially on the defensive end.
By being a proven player on both ends of the court, Belo could be utilized by Blackwater to get a star player. Or, if they want to have a 1st round pick for the upcoming draft, they can give up Mac.
#2 2021 BWE 1st
Yes, they do not own their 2020 1st already after sending it to NLEX in the JP Erram trade. Fortunately, they still have their pick for the 2021 draft. Even though that is still next year, knowing the status of Blackwater as one of the worst franchises in the league. I am pretty sure that pick is pretty valued around the league. Blackwater can easily get an in-prime starting-caliber player for that pick.
#1 Maurice Shaw
It seems like the league as a whole is becoming more aware of the importance of giants in the league. I concluded that due to the plethora of rumors that came out regarding Shaw, once Blackwater drafted him with the #2 pick. Shaw is already 34 years old but it is pretty obvious that he has the size to wreak havoc in the league.
