Our trade table is still so busy with a lot of teams trying to fix their squads. Columbian and Rain or Shine jigged their line-up by having a fairly equal trade.
Wait, this is not real life PBA. This is PSBL!
What is PSBL? READ HERE!
RAIN OR SHINE Trade
RR Pogoy
Rashawn McCarthy
Glenn Khobuntin
COLUMBIAN Trade
Calvin Abueva
Baser Amer
Larry Fonacier
COLUMBIAN
Knowing that they are currently at the 2nd spot of the standings, this move is riskier for Columbian because they will need to find the right depth chart again that will work.
Looking at the player statistics of Columbian, it seems like the idea is to improve their scoring capacity because it can be argued that Pogoy is a more effective scorer than Abueva. Actually, Pogoy is currently the top scorer of Rain or Shine.
The same could be said for McCarthy over Amer.
The biggest question though is, are the three new guys better fit around Perez and Slaughter? I think the answer is yes because the three new guys are better shooters, as a whole, that will provide better spacing for Perez and Slaughter.
Grade: C
RAIN OR SHINE
RR Pogoy is currently the top scorer for Rain or Shine. Although, I understand why it was easy for the GM of Rain or Shine to trade him because he was not the one who drafted the team.
Looking at the trade, the addition of Abueva to Rain or Shine will provide them with two scrappy players in Belga and Abueva. Although, I am not really sure if he can take over the #1 scorer role from Pogoy.
Amer will help in terms of scoring but they also gave up McCarthy.
Overall, I see this as Rain or Shine improving the other facets of their team. Although, it is questionable to me if it was worth the cost.
Grade: D
Now, there are other trades that happened. Check them HERE! I will discuss them in the future.
