San Miguel Beermen and Magnolia Hotshots. Remember those two teams because they may end up as the only ones that played in the 2020 season of the PBA.
We are currently at this very dire situation where not playing any single game is the safest route to take.
Now, if the PBA consider playing at least a single conference, they need to take at most precautions. The best possible way to do it could be to quarantine all of them into one city. Provide a gym for each team and give them 14 days to prepare.
Of course, at least a rapid test should be taken before a player and anyone from the team and anyone from the PBA, game officials and etc., can join. Of course, a positive result will make that player, coach, game officials and etc. ineligible to take part in the cup.
Each team should lodge nearby and foods will be provided. Their teams will of course take care of the expenses.
For the tournament, a four-game, seven-days a week, played in two venues should be the best path because the quicker we finished, the safer the players will be.
Yes, I basically presented the proposal of coach Richard Del Rosario, and I think it is the best way to at least have one conference this year.
Unfortunately, the PBA quickly rejected the idea, pointing out the risk and the amount of expenses. Looking at it, I do not blame the PBA if they want to minimize risk as low as possible.
But, if they are that conservative, I am not that confident that we will see another PBA game this year.
