2020 PBA Trade Suggestion for Magnolia: How about the rookie bigman of Ginebra?

Let us continue this series of articles wherein we will suggest a trade for each team that will catapult them to the right path. When I say the right path, the two extremes will be all-out contending and all-out tanking.

Today, we will talk about the Magnolia Hotshots. Magnolia has a pretty loaded roster. They easily have the deepest guard rotation after acquiring Chris Banchero from Alaska. Their wing is also fine with Rome Dela Rosa and Jackson Corpuz. And their center is still holding it tight with Ian Sangalang, Marc Pingris and Rafi Reavis.

So, what do they need? They need a shooter and a bigman. Of course, they can combine that in a stretch big but a  shooting bigman that is available through trade is still hard to find in the league. One guy though, that they may ask for is a rookie forward.

Ginebra Trade: Arvin Tolentino
Magnolia Trade: Chris Banchero or Justin Melton or Jio Jalalon

Yes, I know that for Ginebra and Magnolia to consummate a trade, they need a third team. I am pretty sure they can easily find one, knowing the name recognition of the guards of Magnolia.

So, why Arvin Tolentino?

Arvin is not capable of playing the center position but he can easily be a power forward. Of course, his age is a big reason and I think Arvin and Aris Dionisio, the 2019 1st of Magnolia, is a perfect pairing. Both guys are versatile players and have the athleticism to be flexible on both ends of the court.

Just recently, he was praised by coach Tim Cone who is very excited about what he brings to the table.
