Greg Slaughter continues to make waves in Philippine basketball as he announced in his social media account that he is now part of BeoBasket, the agency with the most number of clients in the Euroleague!
BeoBasket is led by Misko Raznatovic, a former professional basketball player himself with 20 years of experience under his belt.
Misko also owns a professional basketball team, Mega Basket, that currently competes in the Basketball League of Serbia and the Adriatic League. Mega Basket is a very good team in Serbia, as it is currently on a seven-season streak of entering the playoffs, with six semifinals appearance.
One intriguing characteristic of Misko is his passion for making sure that basketball players, his clients, get the best deals that they can. He has been a fixture on big-time European deals, like the historic Deron Williams to a Turkey league-team deal.
If we apply that to Greg, I do not think he will support the idea of Greg returning to the PBA because his contract in the PBA is way low than what he can get in Europe, for example.
That assumption also agrees with the social media post of Greg wherein he highlighted the fact that BeoBasket has the most number of clients in the 2019 FIBA World Cup and that his goal is to be one of them by 2023. He did not cite the PBA.
And now, he is part of the agency with multiple NBA players under their wings, led by Denver Nuggets superstar, Nikola Jokic.
Other than Nikola, they also handle Dzanan Musa, Dario Saric of Philadelphia 76ers, Ivica Zubac of LA Clippers, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot of Brooklyn Nets, Adam Mokoka of Chicago Bulls, Goga Bitadze of Indiana Pacers, Boban Marjanović of Dallas Mavericks and Cedi Osman of Cleveland Cavaliers.
What will be the next step of Greg. I am pretty sure, we will find out soon.
