TNT went all in for this 2020 season. They sacrificed the brewing rebuild of NLEX just to present the best possible line-up of TNT.
Unfortunately, they did not foresee the sudden retirement of Kelly Williams. Still though, they entered the PBA bubble with the most firepower out of the twelve participating teams. Although, I will argue that Ginebra is still very close to them, especially with the rise of Prince Caperal.
Actually, TNT was the most prepared team entering the bubble because they conducted a bubble-training before the tournament n Pampanga.
All of those sacrifices may turn out to be for naught this year if they fail to win back-to-back against Phoenix Super LPG.
By failing to secure even a Finals ticket, it could be the final nail in the coffin for at least one of the big trade rumors of TNT.
The first one was the buzz that Parks wants to play for another team. Parks though could change his mind if TNT can build a winning franchise. That winning is now in jeopardy.
The other rumor was about the possibility that TNT will choose Parks as their next face and let go of Castro. There is a good chance that a loss could push TNT management to give up Castro for a player in the age-range of Parks.
And I think, if Castro is traded, I will not be shocked if the other TNT veterans will try to settle for new teams.
TNT can still prevent a massive roster change if they will win their next two games. Will Phoenix let that happen?
