PBA Trade Rumors: Alaska is trading for a guard!

 

The situation of Jerrick Ahanmisi and Magnolia Hotshots have unraveled in the eyes of the PBA universe. 

That is after we thought that Mikey Williams and TNT will be the ones that will reach May without a resolution.

Now, there is a rumor that Ahanmisi will be unloaded for Rey Publico of Alaska. Publico was the #16 pick of the 2019 PBA draft.

If this happens, it could be an indication from the Magnolia camp that they made the wrong decision with their #10 pick. They are basically trading a #10 pick for a #16 pick.

Easy math, right?

That makes it hard for me to believe that this trade will happen. Unless Alaska will add at least one-second rounder. Just to compensate for the difference between #16 and #10.

Although, I actually like the fit of Publico with Magnolia. Rey is an undersize but long and athletic power forward.

Having that type of player could be better for Magnolia than an inefficient shooting guard like Jerrick Ahanmisi.

On the other hand, Alaska may have the development staff to help out Jerrick.
