Barangay Ginebra San Miguel may have made the biggest trade this year by acquiring Christian Standhardinger in exchange for Greg Slaughter.
The arrival of Standhardinger tells us that Ginebra could be back into playing tall line-ups. Aljon Mariano could be having more time in the small forward position. Scottie Thompson's time as a small forward will surely be reduced.
So, that makes it interesting when we saw a rumor on a Twitter page, stating that Kent Salado could be heading to Terrafirma in exchange for a 2nd round pick.
Salado was a superstar in his days in the NCAA. He was the top guy of the Arellano University and was called the Maestro.
He was also a former partner of Jio Jalalon. Although, Jalalon may have an advantage in every facet of the game.
Nevertheless, Salado had shown glimpses of a pretty high upside. Unfortunately, Ginebra is just too deep at this point in their guard rotation.
Thompson, Stanley Pringle and LA Tenorio will surely grab almost all the minutes in the guard positions.
A rookie shooter in Brian Enriquez could also be deserving of more minutes than Salado because Kent's shooting is not that good.
Thus, trading Kent seems logical for both parties.
