So, the PBA has decided that they will play the "we are contract-abiding league" type of card in stopping Kiefer Ravena in migrating to Japan B League to play professional basketball.
The decision was not shocking as commissioner Marcial told the media right away that Kiefer should follow his current NLEX contract.
What made the decision of the PBA is that they have the rules to stop the growth of Philippine basketball, but they do not have anything to stop the farm teams from operating and tarnishing the image of the oldest basketball league in Asia.
With the decision of the PBA, the future of Kiefer Ravena is so muddy.
One of the Twitter pages that are sharing PBA rumors posted the possibility that Ravena could be playing for TNT if he returns to the PBA.
With the decision of the league, I do not think TNT is that interested now in acquiring Kiefer because of the risk that he will be a Ray Parks 2.0.
Like, once his contract expires, PBA may be forced to let him go. Even though they may still have a contractual connection to him.
Also, if they trade for Kiefer, TNT should give up a good package for him, knowing his pedigree. And I do not think TNT can come up with an acceptable package without giving up one of their starters.
