Three weeks into the action and the race is just getting tighter and tighter.
#10 NLEX Road Warriors (#10 Last Week)
One guy that could be having a renaissance of a season is Kevin Alas who is currently the top scorer of NLEX at 18.5 points in 46% FG shooting.
#9 Northport Batang Pier (#9 Last Week)
Fortunately for Northport, Greg Slaughter is looking like capable of capturing the impact of Christian Standhardinger. The only problem is the lack of time to incorporate him with the team.
#8 Alaska Aces (#8 Last Week)
Alaska is shooting better from beyond the arc than expected and their rebounding is also on a good level even without a giant in their line-up. Unfortunately, they cannot translate it enough for more victories.
#7 Phoenix Fuel Masters (#7 Last Week)
Phoenix is in a very bad start as they are comically so bad in getting fouls and their three-point shooting is still not at its peak. Fortunately, Matthew Wright remains to be lethal, that he is currently the top scorer in the league.
#6 Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (#5 Last Week)
Rain or Shine's offense right now is so bad. Fortunately, their defense is doing fine. The top 3 scorers of Rain or Shine are all shooting below 35% FG per game.
#5 TNT Tropang Giga (#6 Last Week)
You can say that TNT, Meralco and San Miguel are in a virtual tie. TNT is winning close games right now but they are not looking like a team that can win the championship at this point.
#4 Meralco Bolts (#4 Last Week)
Their victory against Alaska where Nard Pinto and Alvin Pasaol scored a lot of points was a good exhibit of the depth of the Bolts. If coach Norman Black master how to wield their depth, I really see them as a dark horse title contender.
#3 San Miguel Beermen (#2 Last Week)
As usual, the Beermen are winning games by being the team with more talent. It is great that CJ Perez is scoring very well and at a good 45% clip.
#2 Magnolia Hotshots (#3 Last Week)
If Magnolia maintains their undefeated record this week, it is almost a guarantee that they will take over the top spot. For now, I cannot do that as it is still early in the tournament. By the way, Ian Sangalang looks better this season, especially on defense.
#1 Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel (#1 Last Week)
They deserved to slide in this ranking but the other options have not given me enough reason to do it. Standhardinger continue to struggle with his 11.3 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
Gins are losing and still you pick them number 1. Unbelievable.
