Now, we have a new rumor about him. According to PBA on the Go, a Twitter personality, Jerrick Ahanmisi could be traded for Jerrick Balanza of Northport, with a 2023 2nd swap involved.
So, Magnolia wants to trade their #10 pick for a 2nd round pick and the value of that pick-swap that will happen, two years from now?
If they are going to do the trade, they will look like a team that gave up that early on Jerrick Ahanmisi. Ahanmisi produced 4.5 points and only shot 28% from beyond the arc.
That 28% shooting is surely disappointing for a guy that was hyped as the best shooter of the latest draft. Just for the record, I criticized the labeling of him as the best shooter of that draft.
On the other hand, Balanza is producing 7.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 three-pointers made and 33% 3FG per game.
The numbers of Balanza is way better than Ahanmisi. And if you think about it, Balanza has a much better resume than Ahanmisi.
Also, Balanza is bigger, giving him a much better chance in defending bigger wings.
Add everything and I think Magnolia will be fine in pushing the trade.
