In one of the fascinating trade rumors in the past few weeks, we saw Moala Tautuaa as a name that San Miguel gave up and they got back Greg Slaughter.
We already provided our opinion that we do not think Greg is an upgrade over Tautuaa. I do not think that the size difference is enough reason for San Miguel to give up Tautuaa for him.
Now, according to PBA on the Go, San Miguel is playing hard-to-get again in giving up Tautuaa. Just like what they did for Von Pessumal in the CJ Perez trade.
They did want to give up Von in the CJ Perez package.
Moala Tautuaa is currently averaging 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 block, 61% FG and 57% 3FG per game.
Not that impressive for a giant but those numbers are actually good for the giant behind Fajardo. Especially when you realized the depth of the San Miguel Beermen.
Tautuaa and Fajardo are again trying to build up their chemistry together. What is great though is the effectiveness of Moala from beyond the arc.
Although, Fajardo is still having a hard time maximizing it.
The good fit of the skillset of Moala to Fajardo should be enough reason for San Miguel to keep Moala as much as possible.
