We are more than a week from the playoffs! Let us see our top bets to win the championship!
#10 Alaska Aces (#10 Last Week)
Alaska may have a big battle against COVID-19. The question is, will they end up being disqualified or will the PBA wait for them?
#9 NLEX Road Warriors (#8 Last Week)
Respect for coach Yeng Guiao in leading this team on the cusp of reaching the playoffs. I still do not think that they have enough firepower to do something big in the playoffs.
#8 Phoenix Fuel Masters (#9 Last Week)
Phoenix is slowly getting to their groove, especially from beyond the arc. Defensively though, they may have a big issue as they are giving up the 2nd most points in the paint.
#7 Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (#6 Last Week)
Rey Nambatac is really building up his name as one of the deadliest closers in the league. Although, that is not enough for me to keep them over Northport.
#6 Northport Batang Pier (#7 Last Week)
Northport is slowly building up its way into the playoffs. They are looking very deep as Jamie Malonzo, the #2 pick, is finding a good role for himself in the team
#5 San Miguel Beermen (#5 Last Week)
San Miguel was dealt a hard loss by Rain or Shine. It is good that Terrence Romeo is back to his #1 scoring form but Junemar Fajardo is a big concern with his current production.
#4 Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel (#2 Last Week)
Here is the biggest problem for Ginebra, if they end up in the #7 to #8 spot, they will be having a twice-to-beat disadvantage against a top 2, in-form, team. Was Standhardinger really that bad of a fit?
#3 Meralco Bolts (#4 Last Week)
Meralco is a real dangerous team in the playoffs. Their defense right now is pristine, limiting the opponent to the 2nd lowest paint points per game.
#2 Magnolia Hotshots (#3 Last Week)
It seems like the arrival of Calvin Abueva may have ignited something inside Ian Sangalang as he averaged 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 44% FG per game.
#1 TNT Tropang Giga (#1 Last Week)
Mikey Williams is legit. He did not have a good start but he is currently averaging 17.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 41% FG per game. He looks like a superb fit for the drive and kick offense of coach Chot Reyes.
