The first set of unrestricted free-agent in the history of the PBA is upon us. According to Spin.ph, the members of the 2014 PBA draft are now eligible to be Unrestricted Free Agents by this 2022.
So, the moment their contract expires and they did not sign any renewal, they are now considered as Unrestricted. That means they can sign with any team that they want to.
And the first-ever guy that will take advantage of that rule is Nard Pinto, a quality guard of the Meralco Bolts.
So, which team should try to make an offer?
Meralco Bolts
He is playing a big role in his current team, Meralco Bolts. He is averaging 9.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 41% FG per game this tournament.
With his big role in the team, Meralco should be hard-pressed to just let him go. Although, they do have a deep guard rotation.
Barangay Ginebra
Even with the good news about the injury of Stanley Pringle, we are still not aware about the length of time that he will miss.
So, adding a guy that can score and distribute the ball should be a good thing for Ginebra.
Northport Batang Pier
I think the biggest weakness of Northport is the back-up point guard rotation. And I think that will be an awesome place for Pinto.
