Kai Sotto should give up his NBA dream, right?

For the first time in the history of the NBA, Filipino fans did not only watched the NBA draft because of their vanity for the league. They also witnessed it, hoping for Kai to be called.

Unfortunately, after 58 announcements, we did not hear the name of Kai. Personally, I did expect it, knowing that we never heard a news that is pointing to him being drafted.

The question now is, is Kai's dream of playing in the NBA, over?

Of course not. He is now an NBA free agent and any team that will feel that he deserves a roster spot can offer him such.

There are proven paths for that to happen. One of the most popular now is the two-way contract. Actually, Ron Harper Jr., a half-Filipino, got one.

When you are in a two-way contract, you are basically in the 16th and 17th roster spots of that team. And you are allowed to play some games in the NBA but most of the time, you will be in the NBA G League.

Playing in the NBA G League can also be a path. We just saw how Gary Payton's patience was rewarded and he became an important role player in a championship team.

Other than that, playing in other International league outside the NBA can still be a path that can send Kai to the NBA. But, he will need to be dominant to be noticed.

With all those options, Kai's dream is not yet dead. It will only be dead if he give up. And I hope he will not.
