Now that we are two weeks into this season, the fans are starting to crave for trades for their favorite team. How about ranking them according to the need for a trade.
#12 Barangay Ginebra
There is no point for Ginebra to make any change in their current line-up. They are playing very well and their team is way healthier than the other elite teams. Although, Stanley Pringle's health is a concern.
#11 Phoenix
Phoenix has a lot of new pieces in their teams that they are trying right now. They just acquired Javee Mocon for a big package. They also added three good rookies. Even their acquisition last year, Sean Anthony, has not played a single game.
#10 Meralco
In the offseason was the right time for Meralco to make a trade. They did not. Fortunately, they still started the conference in a good way. At this point, they should just ride their chemistry and depth into the playoffs.
#9 Blackwater
They started the tournament in the right feet. Nevertheless, the expectation for them is still very low. Knowing that I do not see the point for them to make a change in their line-up.
#8 TNT
They are the defending champion and they are doing well without their best player, Mikey Williams. If Williams is really returning, TNT should have the right team to try and defend their crown.
#7 Converge
They are not having the start that they are desiring to have. That is expected because they are playing a lot of rookies and young players. They can try to find some upgrade but we have not seen the full potential of their current core yet.
#6 NLEX
It seems like Kiefer Ravena will not play this Philippine Cup. They are currently 2-1 but I think they still lacks the right level of talent to win the championship. They should try to look to power-up.
#5 Terrafirma
Terrafirma is suddenly saddled with a plethora of season-ending injuries to their core players. But, isn't that fine with the management as it will explain another dismal season from them and another #1 pick to sell in the future?
#4 Rain or Shine
As expected, losing Mocon will be a huge blow to Rain or Shine. No matter what they will decide to do, I think a trade before the end of the elimination round is a must. Trading a veteran means a bigger chance of losing more for a much better position for the upcoming draft. Or, they can trade some of their assets to add firepower.
#3 Northport
Yes. They have a good start in this tournament. Nevertheless, they also have the most obvious need in the entire league. Without adding a starting-caliber center, it will be hard to see them having a deep playoff run.
#2 San Miguel
San Miguel is being derailed by injuries. Fortunately, they are so deep that they should be able to have a good card even without Vic Manuel, Chris Ross and Terrence Romeo. Nevertheless, trading one of their injured guys for a usable piece will help them get a better chance in winning this tournament and be one of the first representative in the EASL.
#1 Magnolia
Magnolia is the biggest evidence that chemistry has a maximum point of positive impact in terms of winning for a team. I think Magnolia has reached that for a few years now and that they badly need to increase the talent of their team. Specially with their bad start this year.
