San Miguel is undoubtedly the most disappointing powerhouse team in the last two seasons. Yet, coach Leo Austria is still in his seat and two of the death five are already on different uniforms.
I have argued that this is the most important tournament of the PBA in this century. Knowing that the finalists will be going to the first ever home-and-away club tournament of EASL.
Thus, teams should look to be more competitive for this tournament. And San Miguel just got derailed by a swarm of injury bugs.
Three of their core players are on the sideline. They are Terrence Romeo, Chris Ross and Vic Manuel. Even with their injuries though, San Miguel still have a formidable depth.
Thus, a big question should be swirling on the minds of the management. Should they trade for another star in exchange for their injured core players?
Or, should they let their depth take the center age and prove their worth?
Simon Enciso finally got a good amount of playing and role in their game against Ginebra. He scored 18 points and grabbed 3 rebounds.
Moala Tautuaa is getting steady minutes. Although, I still question the decision to give more minutes to Rodney Brondial.
Actually, Paul Zamar was still out of playing time in that game. And Pessumal only got 3 minutes. Just a proof that San Miguel is still very deep to compete.
