It is easy to point to Ginebra as the favorite in this tussle because of how dominant Ginebra was against Meralco in the Governors' Cup.
Here is the difference though. Justin Brownlee is not here. Actually, this can be a great way for Ginebra to prove that they can dominate Meralco in the Philippine Cup. Although, Meralco won their elimination round game.
Meralco is #2 in terms of turnovers and they dominated that in their elimination round match-up. Ginebra is the best in limiting free-throws of opponent but in their elimination round game, Meralco got more.
Lastly, Cliff Hodge is always extra motivated against Ginebra and it is always a superb boost if he scores in double-digits.
PREDICTION
Even though there are good statistical argument in choosing Meralco over Ginebra, I think the familiarity of coach Tim Cone in beating coach Norman's Meralco will prevail. I expect this to reach game 3.
