Phoenix Super LPG let go of the face of their franchise after failing to strike a deal in the negotiation table. Their second best player is also out because of a surgery.
But in a Twitter reply, Jason Perkins clarified that it was actually a broken heart due to the departure of Matthew Wright.
That could be read as a clue that he wants out and according to a Facebook page, three teams are eyeing him already. What should be the offer of each team for Perkins?
NLEX
1st round pick
Jason Perkins deserves more than a 1st round pick but with him being injured for the rest of the season, his trade value goes down. The 1st of NLEX can be interesting because the departure of coach Yeng Guiao could imply that "harvesting" is about to happen.
Magnolia
Keith Zaldivar, Adrian Wong, Russell Escoto, 2nd round pick
If Magnolia will try to acquire an injured superstar, I expect them to overwhelm them with quantity of players. Zaldivar is a rookie 1st round pick. Wong was a 1st rounder. Escoto is a bigman and add that 2nd round pick to further paint a picture of a big package and that could be a realistic offer for Magnolia.
Converge
Abu Tratter and Allyn Bulanadi
Out of the three teams in the rumor, Converge has the biggest chance of offering the best package. A starting caliber center and a high-potential guard can be the offer of coach Aldin just to get one of his key cogs in DLSU. I think this is a worth it offer for a top 15 player in the PBA.
