I am still shocked that Converge Fiber Xers decided to let go of Jamaal Franklin. The guy is the best player of the elimination round.
Of course, Justin Brownlee knows what to do to win the crown. But in terms of pure level of play, Franklin was better!
Converge decided that they will again take a big risk just to make a point and continue building the culture in Converge.
Converge decided to bring a New Zealand player in Tom Vodanovich. Tom is coming from a Finals appearance in NBL. Unfortunately, he was just a bench player there as he averaged 3.8 points, 38% FG, 29% 3FG, 2.7 rebounds and 0. assist per game.
The numbers do not lie, he was bad in that tournament. The efficiency is very low and he was already playing against bench player.
According to the report of Spin.ph, Tom is a capable shooter who works hard in getting rebounds. So, Converge is replacing Franklin with a very different type of player.
In short, their chemistry will be back to zero and even the locals will need to make a big adjustment!
With a twice-to-beat disadvantage in the quarterfinals, betting against them will be an excellent one.
