Meralco Bolts coach Norman Black was honest enough to reveal to the media that he was envious with Ginebra because they managed to add superb young talent last year without losing that much.
He is hoping Meralco can also do that. So, who will be the next Meralco Bolts player to be traded? Let us rank all their players!
#6 Aaron Black, Cliff Hodge, Anjo Caram, Reynel Hugnatan
These four have different reasons why I think all of them are the least likely to be traded. Black is still very young and he is in an incredible trajectory. Hodge I think will be hard to trade because of his attachment to the image of the team. Caram is just so solid and I doubt other teams are really craving for a small guard. Reynel is of course on the door of retirement.
#5 Chris Newsome
Newsome is a little bit higher in terms of the potential of being traded because of his upcoming Unrestricted Free Agency.
#4 Raymond Almazan
Almazan has a much higher chance of being traded compared to Newsome because of his injury concerns and the big possibility that Meralco will look to upgrade his position.
#3 Kyle Pascual, Alvin Pasaol, Jansen Rios, Allein Maliksi
Now, these are the guys that are likely to be traded. Pascual because he is a free agent signing and bench bigs are always available. Pasaol is really promising but it seems like he will not get consistent role in Meralco anytime soon. Allein Maliksi can be used for an upgrade.
#2 Chris Banchero, Raymar Jose, Mac Belo
Banchero is not a good fit in Meralco. I think the management has realized that. Jose is a hardworking undersize big that is easy to sell to other teams. Belo is the lottery project that other teams may want to have.
#1 Bong Quinto
I still think that Quinto is the most likely player from Meralco to be traded next. Of course, it is anchored to the rumor that coach Aldon Ayo desire to have him.
