Those who have witnessed his recent training sessions attest that he is now stronger, more agile, and in better health than his last appearance. The explosive and athletic guard is eager to find a team where he can showcase his skills and shine.
Meanwhile, Ricci Rivero, once considered for inclusion in the Gilas Pilipinas' 2023 FIBA World Cup lineup, has expressed his interest in joining the Philippine Basketball Association Rookie Draft, according to his agent. The 25-year-old player previously competed for two UAAP squads, La Salle in 2017 and the University of the Philippines in 2021, before playing for the Taoyuan Pilots in the Taiwanese P.League+. Although his stint in Taiwan did not pan out as expected, Rivero has represented the national team multiple times and aims to make his mark in the PBA.
In addition to Rivero, Brent Paraiso, a member of Letran's champion team last year, has also decided to enter the draft. Paraiso previously teamed up with Rivero during the UAAP competitions in 2017, showcasing their talents in college basketball. Both players are hopeful to make an impact in the PBA as they pursue their professional basketball dreams.
Furthermore, 2-time UAAP champion Raffy Verano has confirmed his plans to apply for the 2023 PBA draft. The versatile player, known for his contributions on both ends of the court, expressed his excitement about the prospect of playing professionally in the Philippines, making his dream a reality. Currently playing for Quezon in the MPBL, Verano aims to continue his basketball journey in the PBA.
