When Snow Badua post something, we should read it and talk about it because the guy has legit insiders in the PBA.
So, in his latest social media post, he said that around 3 teams are excited about the upcoming end of the contract of Calvin Abueva.
He only have one more season in his current contract. After that, these squads from B League can make an offer for him.
Why are Japan B League teams craving for a 35 years old forward?
There is two main reason. The first one is his popularity. Next to Kai Sotto, he will be the 2nd most popular Filipino import in that league. He will surely bring eyeballs. Add his style and the highlights that he will provide and any team that can sign him will have an exciting marketable player.
The 2nd reason is his current skill level. Calvin can still play. I mean, he is not a top 10 player anymore but the guy is still a positive contributor on both ends of the court.
Now, how big is the chance that he will leave Magnolia? I think it is small knowing that he is currently playing for a team under the SMC banner.
