PBA Trade Ranking: Top 5 Winning Trade in 2022!

Let us look back in the trades that we witnessed last year! All of those trades changed the way the 2022-2023 transpired.

Now, which are top 5 winning trades? Here is our ranking!

#5. Phoenix-NLEX
Justin Chua for Kris Porter, 2nd round pick, 2023 1st (NLEX) #7

Phoenix made sure that they got the best package possible for Chua and they did. Getting a #7 pick, a trade piece in Porter and a 2nd round pick as a cherry on top was a superb package. Porter will be traded to Converge and one of the guys that they got was traded for Reden Celda and Tzaddy Rangel.

 #4. NLEX-Converge
David Murell and Tyrus Hill for 2023 1st (XERS) #6

NLEX did it better by trading David Murell and Tyrus Hill for the #6 pick of this draft. Murell and Hill are promising players but both are now traded by Converge and they were not treated with the same value when this trade happened.

#3 Converge-San Miguel
Robbie Herndon for Two 2nd round picks

This one is easy to understand. San Miguel cut him this offseason. So, they gave up two 2nd round picks for nothing now. While Converge got those picks for a player that was valued properly.

#2 TNT-Blackwater-NLEX
Received: Calvin Oftana and Raul Soyud
Sent: Troy Rosario and Gab Banal

Oftana is now one of the most promising young player in the league. TNT gave up a package but looking at it now, Rosario is old to even expect him to remain as a top 25 player in the league for the next three years. Even Soyud is useful.

#1. Ginebra-Northport
2023 1st, Prince Caperal, Arvin Tolentino for Jamie Malonzo

The sudden explosion of Arvin Tolentino make this trade closer than our initial assessment. Malonzo though has proven that his potential is still obvious
