Rookie center Henry Galinato is set to join TNT following an off-season trade with Rain or Shine, which includes additional players.
The Elasto Painters have agreed to send Galinato and veteran Jewel Ponferada to the Tropang Giga in exchange for a first-round pick and Dave Marcelo.
The trade has been formally submitted to the PBA Commissioner’s Office for approval.
Galinato was Rain or Shine's second-round pick, selected 15th overall, in the recent Rookie Draft. Coach Yeng Guiao revealed that there was a pre-draft agreement between the two teams, originally involving Galinato going to TNT in exchange for a first-round pick. However, the trade was later expanded to include Ponferada and Marcelo.
Fans are quick to point out the statement of coach Yeng after the 2023 draft. But they forgot that coach Yeng was talking about the top picks.

TNT needed to overpay to get a quality young center as Kelly Williams and Poy Erram may not be available for them soon. For them to get a Galinato with his very high potential is an excellent decision for them.
While Rain or Shine just took advantage of what is happening in the draft. Galinato fell to their lap in the 2nd round. Knowing that they already have a full line-up, getting a 1st round pick in the future by giving up a 2nd round pick is an easy win.
