PBA Breaking News! Ginebra Justin Brownlee is about to get SUSPENDED!

Barangay Ginebra is currently awaiting official confirmation regarding Justin Brownlee's status following his failed doping test during the 19th Asian Games. Ginebra's team governor, Alfrancis Chua, mentioned that they are no longer disputing the positive test and are simply waiting for the official communication on the potential sanction.

During the PBA's press conference on Tuesday, Chua stated, "We are just going to wait for what they will say. As of now, we will wait and see what will happen to Brownlee." PBA chairman Ricky Vargas also emphasized that the league will await the official sanctions before taking any action.

In the latest team lineups released by the PBA, Brownlee is still listed as Ginebra's import. Despite the possibility for Brownlee to request the testing of his 'B sample,' one of the two samples taken during the doping test conducted at the time of the gold medal game between Gilas Pilipinas and Jordan, Chua believes that a re-test would not significantly alter the result.

According to Chua, "If you appeal, they are going to open the other sample, the so-called B sample. If you are going to look at the process, A and B are the same urine. Why would you tell them to open it and question it when the content of what they will open is the same? If you ask me, I won't contest it. The contents are the same." A possible sanction ranging from one month to two years could be imposed on Brownlee, depending on the specifics of the case.
