PBA BREAKING NEWS! TNT superstar will miss the Commissioner's Cup!

TNT will be without one of its key players for the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup and possibly the entire 48th season due to health concerns.

Roger Pogoy, 31, has been diagnosed with myocarditis, a rare heart condition, as reported by Richard Dy of the Manila Times.

Interim Tropang Giga head coach Jojo Lastimosa confirmed the news, stating that Pogoy is expected to be out for approximately six months.

The 6-foot-2 wingman was a member of the Gilas Pilipinas Men's team that participated in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. He was also initially included in the roster for the 19th Asian Games, but an unfortunate incident during the team's first practice session led to his withdrawal.

Pogoy collapsed at his home, prompting a series of medical examinations that ultimately revealed an inflammation of his heart muscle.

Pogoy played a critical role for TNT in the previous season, featuring in 55 games and maintaining an impressive average of 18.3 points per game.

Do not expect TNT to stay silent with this big injury. They have a lot of reasons now to make a big acquisition. It is just a matter of who.
