Just a few days after his marriage to long-time partner Jeanine Tsoi, Jeron Teng secured his future by signing a two-year contract with San Miguel. His agent, Danny Espiritu, confirmed this development to Tiebreaker Times. Following in the footsteps of his father Alvin, who played for the Beermen from 1986 to 1994, Jeron has now joined the San Miguel team.
Teng's departure from Converge took place on September 19, with the FiberXers releasing him to free agency. Over his five seasons in the PBA, the robust 6-foot-2 forward has maintained solid averages of 10.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. His most prolific scoring season was last year, where he averaged 12.9 points in addition to 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 30 games.
In San Miguel, he becomes part of a star-studded lineup that includes key players such as June Mar Fajardo, Chris Ross, and Marcio Lassiter. Other notable members of the Beermen's rotation are CJ Perez, Terrence Romeo, Vic Manuel, Mo Tautuaa, Jericho Cruz, and Simon Enciso. The team is completed by Allyn Bulanadi, Noy Baclao, Rodney Brondial, import Tyler Stone, and Troy Mallillin.
I wonder if Jeron is a good fit to the team because of the lack of consistent shooting by Jeron. Although, the talent is still very high.
