The race for the Best Player of the Conference award for the 2024 Philippine Cup is as tight as ever. The standings is painting a dominant run by the San Miguel Beermen but in terms of the BPC race, there are a lot of great candidates.
For us, the Best Player of the Conference is purely the best performer which has a good correlation to the results of the games.
#3. Christian Standhardinger
Jamie Malonzo started as the hottest player of Ginebra but at this point, Christian is clearly their best player. He is averaging 20.0 points, 50% FG, 11.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Easily one of the most destructive players in the league.
#2. CJ Perez
Fajardo has a good argument as the representative in this list of the Beermen. But I think, Perez has been more consistent. He is manufacturing 22.2 points, 54% FG, 5.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
#1. Arvin Tolentino / Calvin Oftana / Juami Tiongson
If you give a big weight to team success, CJ could be your choice. But, if you value their role to their team'success, these three are better candidates. In my eyes, they are all in equal footing and the one that can lead their team to the highest seed should get it.
