PBA Team Power Ranking: San Miguel and Magnolia are not CHAMPIONSHIP contenders?

Here is our updated power ranking.  Again, we are ranking the teams according to our belief that they can win the championship.

I only named 10 teams already because the other three teams seem to be unrealistic to be even included in this ranking.

#10. NLEX
They have another fine start in this tournament. With Robert Bolick leading the locals, NLEX is always a good team to watch out for in the playoffs.

#9. Magnolia
I have been a big defender of coach Chito Victolero in the past few years but I reached the point that the team badly needs a new one.

#8. Converge
Is Justin Baltazar, the anointed MPBL GOAT, end up as a disappointment in the PBA? I highly doubt it. I have big doubts that they can reach the finals in this tournament but in the Philippine Cup, it could be a different story.

#7. Northport
They are currently at the top of the standings. Nobody predicted that. Coach Bonnie Tan has created an excellent defensive scheme and a modern offense. I just cannot trust their experience to push them higher in this ranking.

#6. Rain or Shine
Rain or Shine is playing well. I am not sure that they have the right import but with a very loaded roster, Rain or Shine 

#5. San Miguel
San Miguel is struggling. I am not sure they have the right import in Torren Jones. They have new guys in Andreas Cahilig and Juami Tiongson.

#4. Meralco
Meralco is in a good position in the standings even though they have a lot of injuries in their roster. I also think that they have a top 5 import right now once one of them become healthy.

#3. TNT
I understand that TNT is currently 1-2. Still, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is at his peak form and they have one of the most loaded team. Callvin Oftana also reminded us that it is not just a RHJ show.

#2. Barangay Ginebra
With Troy Rosario there, Ginebra is a tall team and coach Tim Cone knows how to maximize it. Once Jamie Malonzo returns, it will be harder to stop Ginebra.

#1. Hongkong Eastern
I have the most confidence right now in Hongkong for my #1 spot. I think, they have the deepest line-up and the size will matter greatly in the playofs.
