This Commissioner's Cup is building up to be a once-in-a-lifetime type of tournament. With the SMC teams at bottom half of the standings, which team should be the favorite to win it all?
Here is our updated power ranking!
#10. NLEX
They still have a slight hope of getting a seat in the playoffs. They have the most consistent import in this tournament. Can they accomplish a miracle?
#9. Magnolia
Magnolia is unraveling in front of our eyes. Just like NLEX, they still have a glimmer of hope. Will they find the path to survive?
#8. Rain or Shine
I have a big question mark about their import. Even with a good record right now, I cannot trust them a better spot in this ranking.
#7. Northport
Unfortunately, I am not yet convince that they are allowed to actually give their best shot of winning the championship. Unless their path in the playoff will not involve a face-off against one of the SMC teams.
#6. San Miguel
This is the highest rank that I can give to them. Their import position is still a big question mark. Their rotation is still very shaky.
#5. Converge
I think they have all of the three ingredients to win the championship. They have size, they have scoring prowess and they have talent both in quality and quantity.
#4. Ginebra
Do not count out Ginebra yet. They are Ginebra for a reason. They are healthier than last tournament. Brownlee is still a top 5 import.
#3. Meralco
They managed to have a better record at this point in the tournament than seven other teams even though they face a lot of injury issues.
#2. Hong Kong
They are the #1 in my previous ranking but with their current schedule issues, I decided to slide them by one spot.
#1. TNT
They did not start the tournament hot but they are unstoppable now and they are hitting on all cylinders. If Calvin Oftana sustain his form, TNT will be hard to beat in the playoffs.
