The trade between Northport and Blackwater is not the blockbuster that people are anticipating but it was still shocking because Northport traded a bigman even though they have the shallowest frontline rotation in the league today.
The question looms now, is Northport acquiring a bigman soon? For their center position, I think the only players that can play it are Daniel Cuntapay and Cade Flores. For the power forward position, that could be played by Sidney Onwubere, Arvin Tolentino, Will Navarro and in a small-ball line-up, Joshua Munzon.
Thus, there is a strong possibility that they will acquire a bigman soon. I think, these are the three likely candidates that they will get.
#3. Jamie Malonzo
There are rumblings recently that Malonzo is now being discussed in trade possibilities. He is specially being discussed as the package for Arvin Tolentino.
#2. Moala Tautuaa
Tautuaa is easily the best bigman trade target now. If San Miguel really feels like he is not a good fit as the back-up of Fajardo, Northport may try to get him. Unfortunately, the return could be one of their stars.
#1. James Laput
I think Laput is a realistic target for them now with the low minutes that Laput is getting from Magnolia. He is young and he has the abilities that can fit Northport, perfectly.
